Jon has been a commercial real estate broker for 25 years and a construction manager for 8 years where he builds and renovates commercial offices and industrial and retail buildings. He has helped clients in the telecommunications industry with siting antennas and towers for the past 21 years. As the proud new owner of Matrix Communications, he hopes to leverage his experience to support his employees, better serve his customers, and facilitate growth for Matrix throughout New York State.

Jon says that Matrix employees impress him daily with their skills, diligence, enthusiasm, and work ethic. He hopes to support and guide them in the same way they have helped each other as colleagues, leveraging their years of experience averaging over 25 years. He is proud to see his employees continue to provide excellent service and guidance for Matrix customers and clients statewide.

Jon is happily married to his wife Anne of 25 years. They have 3 children, who make them proud every day, and 2 dogs to keep them entertained! When not working, Jon enjoys being outdoors, in the woods, on the beautiful lakes of Central New York boating, kayaking, and fishing, or in the hills of Central New York mountain biking and skiing in the winter.

As one of the founders, Andy remains the backbone of Matrix Communications. He is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of Field Operations, Installations, Service and Scheduling, Customer Care, Project Management, and Infrastructure Material Purchases. Andy is the conduit that coordinates and facilitates communication between the sales, technical support, design, customer service, and accounting departments and is regarded by his colleagues as an essential employee.

Andy is most proud of the people and relationships he has fostered in the past 37 years and takes great pride in seeing the development and advancement of the Matrix team throughout his career. Andy comes from a large family. He and his wife Carolyn have 2 daughters of their own and 3 dogs to keep them busy. While not working, Andy enjoys fine dining with his wife, fishing, swimming, biking, golfing, and working in his yard. Traveling with his family, however, is the thing he looks forward to most.

Andy and Carolyn support the Open Door Mission, the Webster and Rochester PBA, the Webster High School Marching Band, and the Tunnel 2 Towers Fund. They also volunteer their time at the Baber Church Hot Lunch program. Andy is the calm voice on the other end of the phone, consistently guiding Matrix through every challenge.

For 8 years, Stephanie has been the bookkeeper at The IBEX Group and recently agreed to join Matrix as its Bookkeeper and Executive Assistant. Stephanie acts as a sounding board of ideas and is consistently seeking ways to improve our internal processes to make them more efficient and forward-facing. Stephanie is inquisitive, a natural networker, and provides the essential services to keep Matrix running smoothly including bookkeeping, payroll, accounting, marketing, and human resources. Her emotional intelligence, positive attitude, and enthusiasm help to create and sustain a collegial and productive work environment. Stephanie is a mom who is raising a funny, strong, and caring daughter. While not at work, Stephanie likes to tackle home improvement projects, garden at her home, run around to her daughters sporting events, and spend time with her family.

Matt is a sales professional of 20 years that helps your company optimize the value of your IT investments. His experience, combined with multi-vendor, multi-platform heritage, gives him the skills and independence to move your business forward based on what’s most important to you. Matt works to find the right solutions to best fit your budget and business initiatives.

Matt helps customers navigate technology and services that streamline operations and maximize profit to businesses from a variety of industries. He is well seasoned in the areas of data center optimization, IP communications, information management, cloud services and more. Through the utilization of rigorous methodology, he balances the requirement for innovation with the discipline required for superior results. He translates your business needs into flexible technology solutions that deliver on time and on budget.

Matt is a proud father of 2 girls that keep him busy. On his free time you can spot him at live music, camping, hiking, and traveling the world.

Jerry has been with Matrix for 30 years and is responsible for the sales and design engineering for the cabling side of Matrix’s business. He is responsible for designing, estimating, planning, bidding, and managing the installation of cabling throughout Matrix’s service territory statewide. Jerry is held in high regard by the customers who have had the pleasure of working with him and often receives compliments from general contractors and vendors who have awarded Matrix work. Jerry and his wife have 2 children, Andrew and Katie, an “adopted” daughter Kat, and his pets Lilly and Lucy. Jerry works best when everyone else has left the office in the evening, with the music turned up loud. When not working, Jerry relaxes by tending to his yard, watching SU Football and Basketball, and playing hockey and softball. Jerry is thoughtful, and good listener, and a team player.

Val has been with Matrix for 25 years and has mastered all facets of Matrix Communications’ business. In her words, her job is to configure and install new telephone systems, coordinate and perform service, moves, additions, and changes to Matrix’s customers’ systems, and provides technical support to Matrix’s internal systems. Her colleagues appreciate that Val is self-taught, inquisitive, enthusiastic, and positive, and she is the go-to problem-solver for the Matrix team. Val has a love for learning, which is evident in her progression and skill-set development within Matrix. Val and her partner Greg have two dogs, Lambo and Mimi, and are fortunate to have family and many good friends close by. When not working, Val loves gardening, camping, swimming, walking the dogs, skiing, and playing softball and tennis—not very well (her words!). Val is a board member at the non-profit Dream Factory of Central New York, whose mission is to make dreams come true for chronically and critically ill children throughout Central New York. Val’s sense of humor and work ethic make her an irreplaceable asset to Matrix.

Sandy joined Matrix 32 years ago. Since then, she has been the friendly and warm voice of Matrix Communications. Sandy is the customer service representative for Matrix and fields all phone calls and customer service emails. Sandy coordinates and dispatches service technicians, performs all invoicing for projects, fulfills maintenance contracts, and responds to all customer needs. She is a people person who prioritizes customer satisfaction. Sandy is most proud of her optimistic attitude and her people skills. Sandy has a small family, but a huge circle of friends. She recently organized her High School Reunion which was a weekend full of activities and friendship – as she is the “glue” that keeps her friends stuck together. When not working, Sandy is in her garden, hiking, biking, or cruising in her convertible. Cooking, movies, music, knitting, and great friends make Sandy happy. Sandy recently adopted Bernie (short for Bernice!), a beautiful black lab puppy, who the Matrix team looks forward to seeing in the office as much as we do Sandy. Sandy supports the SPCA and Helping Hounds and is always supportive of her friends, family, nieces and nephews, and colleagues. Sandy has a quick wit, a warm smile, and a hearty laugh. She sets the attitude for the office and keeps the Matrix team pulling together in one direction.

Randy has been with Matrix for 35 years and is experienced in all facets of Matrix’s cabling installations from job surveys, to job quoting, estimating, and installs. Randy is happily married with five children, including three daughters and two sons. Besides his family, Randy is most proud of the standard and quality of work that he performs, as evidenced by the consistent respect praised upon him by colleagues and customers. When not working, Randy likes to work in his yard and garden. He gardens with the same tenacity and precision as he performs his work, evidenced by the bumper crop of produce Randy shares with his colleagues annually. One of Randy’s colleagues describes Randy this way: “Randy is one of the most rock-solid employees we have ever had…he would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. The skills he has in his craft are beyond comparison…”. Randy is ethical, hard-working, and disciplined. He is a leader by example, and he is a direct and effective communicator.

Brian has over 39 years of Business Technology experience. It is hard to categorize what Brian does for Matrix, as he is cross-trained in many disciplines. Brian is currently an installation and service technician with over 30 years of employment at Matrix Communications and is considered the “Swiss Army Knife” or “Leatherman tool” of our organization. Brian was trained and educated at IBM and Kodak, two preeminent technology organizations, before joining Matrix Communications. Brian is taxed with wearing many hats at Matrix, and our customers benefit from Brian’s broad and diverse technical background and years of experience. Brian has an incomparable knowledge of the sales, installations, and service side of Matrix Communications and is viewed as a knowledgeable resource by all Matrix customers. Brian is fastidious, eager to learn, and creative. Brian is keen on exploring new business opportunities to enhance, support, and grow Matrix Communications. Brian’s colleagues describe Brian as “…creative, ambitious, smart, and opinionated”. The Matrix team values Brian’s candidness, work ethic, and willingness to learn. Brian is married and, while not working, enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Craig has been with Matrix for 35 years and is currently an installation and service technician. Family is Craig’s number one priority and focus in life and spending time with his three children and grandchildren outdoors, in nature, makes him most happy. Craig understands that taking time to appreciate and enjoy life is what makes life worth living. When not working, Craig likes to relax with a fishing pole in his hand.

Bill has helped to grow several real estate brokerage, construction management, and property management companies by being the calm and reliable presence to make our physical spaces function properly. He has been the point of contact for all tenants within the IBEX management portfolio, providing and coordinating everything from supplies to janitorial demands, repairs, and maintenance. He recently agreed to join Matrix as our head custodian and property manager. Bill is happily married and, when not working, you can find him with a fishing pole in hand, taking a ride through the Adirondacks, or spending time with his grandchildren.
